Santiago Remon graduated from the ESMT Berlin Full-time MBA program in 2008. He is now working as the VP of HR at Blue Alba and a management consultant at FC Diez Media. We caught up with him to gain insight into his ESMT experience and post-MBA life.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tell us a little bit about yourself.  <\/h2>\n\n\n

I am a 46-year-old Argentinean industrial engineer and the father of a three-year-old boy and a 6-month-old baby girl. I am currently living in Mendoza, Argentina, after a very nice experience of living abroad in Germany, the USA, and Brazil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I completed my MBA at ESMT in 2008 and it was one of the best life experiences I’ve ever had. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Certainly, my career progressed substantially after attending ESMT, first in getting a management job in Germany, followed by moving to the USA and Brazil where I gained further international work experience.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I moved back to Argentina in 2012, where the MBA plus the international experience provided me with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as country manager and managing director of different companies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What did you learn most about yourself during the program?  <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Adopting a global approach and perspective opened my mind in several directions and this came from having classmates and professors that came from all over the world.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who at ESMT had a big influence on your career and\/or life?  <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s hard to mention a few, but professor Francis De Vericourt is certainly at the top, as are professor Zolt\u00e1n Antal-Mokos and Andreas Bernhard. I love the admission team, too! And professor Konstantin Korotov had a significant impact as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the highlights from your studies?   <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As I mentioned, the enriching experience of sharing the classroom with such smart classmates from all over the world and the faculty, who were truly top class. Special mention also goes to all the ESMT staff who made our life so nice during that year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How are you still involved with ESMT?  <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Right after graduation, I was very much involved in topics related to admissions and the Alumni Network Fellowship. My journey at ESMT started when I was awarded the fellowship which was an opportunity, I am truly grateful to have received. Thanks to the support of the alumni network, there have been 6 fellowships awarded so far. I think it is important that we give back and continue to support our school. As the years progressed, I passed the torch to the more recent graduates, but I am still engaged with alumni activities, such as attending the Annual Alumni Meeting when possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How has the school changed since you studied here? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I will say it evolved more than it changed. It is amazing to see so much growth, there are so many new programs, courses, customer solutions, and top rankings, etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ESMT is more than a business school because it is a life experience. It will definitely change your career but will have a significant impact on your life.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
